Explore the many facets of holistic nursing including holistic nursing education/practice, nurse coaching, holistic schools, and credentialing as a holistic nurse or practitioner. Develop skills in holistic assessment, holistic caring, and self-care. Discuss ways to spur the growth of holistic nursing in academia/practice. Holistic caring is beneficial to all healthcare professionals in any setting. FYI: I do charge a fee which is affordable to most students. I am not a member of a preceptor hub which often is more expensive. The legal review between your school and my employer often requires several months. The legal review has been completed with Capella University. Therefore, I can start right away if you are a student with Capella. I am interested in being a preceptor for other universities if you are interested in being patient for a legal review. I have extensive clinical experience and knowledge. And, for those interested I have extensive knowledge regarding integrative healthcare & healing modalities (e.g. herbal medicine use).

Students will be active learners by seeking opportunities to best suit their needs. Students should reach out to the preceptor as needed. Students are expected to actively engage with the preceptor. Evaluations of the preceptor are required at the completion of the preceptorship. Students will be provided with an evaluation from the preceptor. Hours and time frame for completion of the preceptorship will be determined by the student's instructor/requirements for their current course/school. Open communication between the student, preceptor, and instructor is required as needed to complete the preceptorship.

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - 24-bed unit caring for high acuity cardiac patients suffering with both medical and surgical diagnoses. Recover and manage post-surgery patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graphing, valve replacement, or aneurysm repair. Patients may be cannulated for ECMO, or have device placement such as an Impella, IABP, CRRT, or Zoll. We care for patients after a STEMI/N-STEMI who may have received a PCI.

Night shift on a 24-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit caring for high acuity cardiac patients suffering with both medical and surgical diagnoses. Recover and manage post-surgery patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graphing, valve replacement, or aneurysm repair. A student would have ample opportunity for hands-on experience with such patients. Titration and understanding of vasoactive medications, high-risk medication administration, EKG interpretation, lab value comprehension and application in a high-paced critical care environment.
